Bahir 9, Sections 36-39. Secrets of the Vowels. The vowels used in Hebrew prove that Sefer Bahir is a text of a much later period than either Temple or Talmudic times. The vowels are used to describe the relationship between the visible and invisible worlds referred to in later Kabbalah as the Du Partzufim. Earlier Torah based mysticism was based on actual experience and ascent into the invisible realm(s). As these practices were being replaced by the theoretical school of mysticism, called Kabbalah, the older experiences had to be explained, because most could not longer experience them. This lesson explains this relationship.
