The Am HaAretz, Cultural Racism, Past and Present. Since Talmudic days there has been a cultural racism of one segment of society against those who embrace religion. This group has been given many names, which often overlap and can be mutually exclusive. Names confuse, therefore, this class identifies what is meant by the Am HaAretz in its application within these texts, and not how the term is used elsewhere. Why a cultural racist should not eat meat, how deep their hatred against religion and the religious can go. We live in an upside-down world.
